About the Role:

The Activity Director plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in a healthcare or social assistance setting. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing engaging activity programs that cater to the diverse interests and needs of the residents. The ultimate goal is to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being through structured activities that foster social interaction and personal growth. The Activity Director will collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure that all activities align with the residents' care plans and therapeutic goals. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Social Work, or a related field or completion of 36 hour Activity Director's course.
  • Experience working with elderly or disabled populations in a healthcare or social assistance setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in program development and evaluation in a healthcare environment.
  • CPR certification

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive activity program that meets the needs and preferences of residents.
  • Coordinate and schedule daily activities, ensuring a variety of options that promote engagement and participation.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of activity programs and make adjustments based on resident feedback and changing needs.
  • Collaborate with staff, families, and community resources to enhance the activity offerings and ensure a holistic approach to resident care.
  • Maintain accurate records of participation and outcomes to report on the success of the activity programs.
