Job Description

The UPS Store is seeking a detail-oriented skilled and experienced Packer to handle fragile items and artwork with utmost care to prepare them for shipment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in bubble wrapping techniques, possess a keen attention to detail, and be capable of safely lifting at least 40lbs. This role involves going on pickups, loading, and unloading delicate items and boxes, ensuring their safe transport and storage. Responsibilities:

• Safely pack fragile items and artwork using appropriate materials, such as bubble wrap, foam planking, and custom-fit boxes.
• Exercise extreme caution and attention to detail while handling delicate items to prevent damage during packing, loading, and transportation.
• Collaborate with team members to efficiently load and unload items, organizing and securing them in transport vehicles.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in packing fragile items and artwork with precision and care.
• Available to work weekends as required is mandatory.
• Proficiency in bubble wrapping techniques and knowledge of various packing materials.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items, weighing at least 40lbs, while adhering to proper lifting techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to handling delicate items.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in art handling, gallery work, or similar fields.
• Familiarity with inventory management and tracking systems.

This position offers an opportunity to showcase exceptional packing skills while handling delicate and valuable items, contributing to a team dedicated to preserving and transporting fragile goods securely. This position is based out of a UPS Store and not the warehouse. Weekends and late nights will be required as needed.
