Job Duties: Database Manager This position reports to the Director of Finance and is responsible for information acquisition, analysis, reporting, and data integrity for the alumni/donor database in University Advancement for the University of Wisconsin-Stout. This includes serving as the administrator for the alumni/donor database, training and supporting others in automating business communication, providing statistical reporting for management, and coordinating imports and exports of information within the Unit and also to other University departments. This position holds primary responsibility for database content integrity and data report accuracy.
Key Job Responsibilities: - Develops components of data architectures and database management policies and standards
- Facilitates unit staff training opportunities in the effective utilization of databases
- Identifies and resolves basic and routine data issues and upholds database-use guidelines
- Serves as a point of contact on database systems and procedures for existing projects and facilitates planning
- Installs, configures, maintains, backs up, restores, and performance-tunes databases
- Implements varied security measures to safeguard digital information according to established policies and procedures
- Monitors and analyzes database audit tables and logs and provides varied data warehousing support and data extraction
Department: The UW-Stout Office of University Advancement is comprised of the UW-Stout Foundation and Alumni Association. The two units collaboratively strive to advance the mission of UW-Stout through building relationships with alumni, friends, and industry partners of the university. Under the direction of the UW-Stout Foundation Board of Directors, the UW-Stout Foundation is responsible for the acquisition and stewardship of philanthropic resources for UW-Stout.
Compensation: Minimum starting salary of $80,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. A six-month probationary period is required

Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Working knowledge of technology and standard software programs (eg, word processing, spreadsheets, and database).
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to coordinate and handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: - Three years' work experience in database management, preferably within the non-profit organization environment.
- Raiser's Edge experience or similar Customer Relationship Management system.
- Highly proficient in MS Excel and database software and knowledge of principles of database management and business processes.
- Strong analytic skills and a customer-service attitude.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Excellent judgment including sensitivity to personal and confidential information.
