Job Description

Description This position offers you the opportunity to utilize and expand your academic background in Electrical Engineering in a professional role with a wide range of interesting and challenging responsibilities. You will team up with other engineers and designers involved in the improvement and modification of nuclear plant electrical systems, including: Electrical systems design Preparation of complex calculations Load flow and short circuit analysis Power flow assessments System impact analysis Cable ampacity calculations Preparation of documented design inputs Preparation of equipment and material specifications Preparation of design reports Additional opportunities include: Receiving training and mentorship from experienced engineers on meaningful project engineering assignments Involvement in power distribution design and preparing specifications for procurement of electrical power equipment and installation services Traveling to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification Qualifications Note: We do not sponsor work authorization in the U.S. for this position. Essential skills and experience: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, with a strong background in electrical power concepts and power systems analysis At least 3 years of relevant experience Understanding of practical electrical engineering applications, including system principles, techniques, and procedures Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for producing technical plans, drawings, and models Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong problem-solving skills are preferred PE license is a plus but not required Valued but not required skills and experience: Experience with transient analysis of power systems using software such as ETAP or SKM Benefits At Sargent & Lundy, we prioritize the health and well-being of our employees, offering comprehensive healthcare plans and generous paid time off.
