WVU Medicine seeks a Hospitalist to practice primarily in Wheeling, WV.
Duties: The successful candidate will practice in Internal Medicine.
Qualifications: Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Candidates must be board certified or eligible in Internal Medicine. We also accept Family Medicine boards with significant Hospitalist experience.
Wheeling Hospital, a full member of the health system, is part of a broad, integrated network across West Virginia, Southwestern Pennsylvania, Western Maryland, and Ohio. It has served the Northern Panhandle longer than any other hospital in the state, with 247 beds and 230 physicians. Additional system hospitals include Weirton Medical Center (238 beds) and Reynolds Memorial Hospital (94 beds). Other services include the Continuous Care Center, Wheeling Renal Care, and Howard Long Wellness Center. The hospital is connected to four medical office buildings housing 80 physicians.
Wheeling is a historic city on the Ohio River, 58 miles west of Pittsburgh, PA. It offers a vibrant cultural scene, including the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra and the Oglebay Institute. Year-round activities include golf, hiking, biking, kayaking, skiing, and family events.
The WVU Health System, operating under the brand WVU Medicine, employs over 30,000 staff, with more than 4,000 providers, 25 hospitals, and over 2.5 million patient visits annually.
