Company Overview: Join our Team! The Big Chill 30A is a family friendly entertainment complex located on historic 30A, nestled between Alys Beach and Seaside. Our venue hosts 5 restaurants, 3 bars, retail shops, an amphitheater for live music and a 25 LED Jumbotron for sports and movies. We are open year-round, from 7am to 10pm.
NECTAR coffee shop is now hiring for the Fall season! Proudly serving Lucky Goat Coffee and an eclectic breakfast menu including fresh pastries, acai bowls, smoothies and morning sandwiches, we also offer both hand-scooped and soft serve ice cream and signature shakes. Open positions will require
evening availability, with flexible scheduling offered for students.
Key responsibilities
Ice cream duties - Greet customers warmly and assist them with their orders and flavor selections.
- Scoop and serve ice cream, milkshakes, smoothies, acai bowls, etc.
- Offer samples and engage with customers to enhance their experience.
- Maintain a clean and organized ice cream station, including display cases and serving areas.
- Restock ice cream tubs, toppings, and other supplies as needed.
Barista duties - Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold coffee and espresso beverages according to company standards.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of our beverage menu to answer customer questions and offer recommendations.
- Assist with other food preparation tasks, such as portioning or breakfast items.
General duties - Handle electronic payments accurately using our point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Communicate effectively with team members during busy periods to ensure smooth service.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures and maintain cleanliness throughout the cafe.
- Perform opening and closing duties, including cleaning, stocking, and preparing for the next shift.
Qualifications - Previous experience as an ice cream server, barista, or in a food service role is preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Flexibility in schedule is a plus. This position will have a focus on afternoons and evenings . Need to be available to work weekends, and holidays.
