Job Description

Akkodis is seeking a Mainframe Developer for a Contract with a client in Indianapolis, IN / Plano, TX / Boston, MA / Portsmouth, NH/ Seattle, WA. The ideal candidate will design, code, and maintain mainframe applications while ensuring quality through testing and issue resolution.

Rate Range: $37/hour to $44/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Mainframe Developer job responsibilities include:

• Design, code, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, IMS DB, DB2, JCL, and MQ Series.

• Collaborate with QA teams to ensure thorough testing and quality assurance of applications.

• Perform peer reviews of code and technical documentation to maintain coding standards and best practices.

• Troubleshoot and resolve system performance issues, coordinating with support teams for hardware and software fixes.

• Assist in research and issue resolution for business data processing and participate in on-call rotation for application failures.

• Monitor system performance and proactively address issues to ensure reliability and scalability.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 5–8 years of experience in mainframe application development.

• Strong proficiency in IBM mainframes, COBOL, IMS DB, DB2, JCL, MQ Series, and Xpeditor.

• Ability to design, code, test, and maintain applications while collaborating with QA teams and performing peer code reviews.

Pay Details: $37.00 to $44.00 per hour
