Job Description
I. Position Overview:
A Britt Aero Quality Engineer will interpret customer requirements and provide quality plans, manufacturing direction, and acceptability criteria to produce conforming parts. Quality Engineers act as a liaison between Britt Aero customers and the manufacturing floor, communicating customer expectations throughout all stages of manufacturing.
II. Responsibilities:
A. Decipher pertinent details and customer requirements from purchase orders, specifications, and drawings, to create manufacturing verification and inspection plans.
B. Work closely with Process Engineers to ensure all customer requirements are established during the manufacturing plan creation.
C. Schedule and manage customer source inspection for product release, including but not limited to, the creation of release documentation as necessary.
D. Identification of Root Cause and Corrective Actions, during non-conforming product investigation, including but not limited to, customer-initiated investigations.
E. Responsible to stop and correct quality problems, should they arise, including but not limited to, halting production activities as necessary.
F. Recommend process improvement initiatives to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
III. Requirements:
A. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred, or equivalent in relevant field. Associates degree with 5 or more years’ experience as a Manufacturing Engineer is considered. Finally, ten or more years’ as a Manufacturing Engineer, industry experience only, is also considered.
B. Experience in the Aerospace Manufacturing Industry is required. Hands on experience such as machining, programming, inspection, troubleshooting, project management, auditing, etc., is preferred.
C. Must demonstrate excellent communication skills with both customers and team members.
D. Must demonstrate robust planning and organization skills.
E. Must demonstrate excellent time management skills, while multi-tasking, in a fast-paced environment.
