Under general direction of the Associate Director of the Principal Apportionment Section in the School Fiscal Services Division (SFSD), and working cooperatively with the Education Fiscal Services Administrator of Principal Apportionment Policy Office A, the Education Fiscal Services Administrator is responsible for providing managerial direction and guidance to staff and local educational agency (LEA) administrators on numerous complex issues surrounding attendance accounting, instructional time, special education AB 602 policy, and Local Control Funding Formula policy.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Ensure the accurate and timely apportionment of over $50 billion in state aid to school districts, county offices of education, and charter schools for all Principal Apportionment programs, including LCFF and Education Protection Account apportionments.

Act as the division’s lead representative on Principal Apportionment policy and funding issues.

Oversee and assist staff in the development and maintenance of automated systems and software necessary to support the apportionment of state funds, including special education funds. Coordinate the activities of the office with staff of the department’s Technology Services Division to ensure timely completion of all related computer-programming activities.

This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in California. A hybrid telework schedule includes working remotely and physically reporting to the office.

- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relations with local, state, and federal officials and agencies; relate to school boards, chief business officials, and superintendents; provide leadership and direction for a program of the Department; work effectively with top administrative personnel in the department and other agencies.
